Narrative
BEAVERTON, MI – A 61-year-old woman went to the hospital Tuesday after a crash involving a semi-truck and an Amish buggy in Beaverton.
The accident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of Beaverton Road between Dull Road and Bard Road on the western outskirts of the city.
Police say that an Amish woman and a teenager were riding eastbound in a buggy, towing a second, unoccupied buggy behind them.
For unknown reasons, an eastbound 18-wheeler struck at least one of the two buggies.
Medics transported the Amish woman to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
Neither the truck driver nor the teen in the buggy were hurt.
