Narrative
JACKSON COUNTY, MI – A 42-year-old local woman died Friday afternoon, July 12, as a result of a two-vehicle wreck on State Route 60 in the Village of Concord.
The fatal incident unfolded at the intersection with North Main Street, prompting a response from Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies shortly before 12:30 p.m.
Preliminary details show the woman was traveling northbound on Main Street in a van. At the intersection, the van collided with a semi-truck heading eastbound on M-60. Officials say the driver of the semi, a 65-year-old Sterling Heights man, had tried to avoid the crash.
Officers arrived to find the driver of the van deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semi, who suffered minor injuries, was transported to a local hospital.
